“James Nathaniel Brown, 63, Pro Football Hall of Fame Fullback, Born February 17, 1936 in St. Simons Island, GA, and Michael Jeffrey Jordan, Basketball player, former minor league baseball player, born in New York, New York, February 17, 1963.
Congratulations to Torrance High School's Visions of Unity contest winners. We swept the Photography and Sculpture categories. The winners for Photography are Beatriz Retana - first place, Kylonni Gordon - second place, and Sydney Lima - third place. The winners for Sculpture are Kiley Snider - first place, Antonio Valencia - second place, and Kurt Wada - third place. Way to go Tartars!!
 LegiSchool Project's 2017 Editorial Cartoon Contest, which is open to all students in California in, grades 9-12.  The submission deadline is March 10, 2017. For more information, please visit www.csus.edu/calst/contests.html

Torrance Youth Council’s “Beat the Odds Scholarship applications are now at your school. Check in your activities office, your scholarship counselor or your local library or on the Torrance Youth Council’s page on the website at www.recreation.torranceca.gov or Youth Council’s Facebook page. All applications are due by March 15, 2017. For more information call 310-618-2949.
THE ATTIC is currently accepting new memberships for the 2016-2017 for only $10.00. Join us for weekly tournaments, movie Tuesdays, Basketball and rounds of pool.

ECC Info Session: Calling all juniors and seniors!  Come to the College & Career Center on Thursday, March 9, for an introduction to El Camino College and an overview of services they provide. A representative will be on site to get you started on the application process and go over the steps of enrollment. The deadline to sign up is Tuesday, March 7, in the College & Career Center.
