If you are interested in getting CPR certified see Ms. Phillips in Room A222.
 
Computer Science class students: If you signed up for this class, it is appearing on you course selections as:  Bus Dept 3 Sched.  That is actually the right choice for the new Computer Science/Software class.  Counselors have received several change requests because of how it is "showing up" on student and parent connect.  Not to worry, you are in the correct class.  
 
Scheduling reminder:  Moving to the next level of math or foreign language requires that you receive a grade of C or higher in June.  Counselors will be checking grades over the summer to make sure that you are placed in the correct class.  If you currently have a grade below a C make sure you take advantage of the free tutoring offered before and after school.  Four year colleges/universities do not accept grades below a C!
 
THS Teacher of the Year 2016:  Cast your vote for THS Teacher of the Year!  Teachers, Counselors, Dean, Librarian, Activities Director and Athletic Director are eligible to be nominated.  Applications are available in the principal’s office, activities office, and library and on the THS website.http://ths.tusd.org .  Please submit your nomination for a worthy candidate to the principal’s office by Monday, May 2nd.  The Teacher of the Year Award will be announced at Achievement Awards.
 
Want to change the world? Learn the skills you need through competitive public speaking! THS Speech & Debate 2016-2017 season applications are out! Pick up yours in ASB, room A232, or on the THS website. Apps are due 5/3/16 by4:00 pm to room A232 or the principal's office. Tryouts will be on 5/5/16 at 7:00 p.m. in the THS Little Theatre. Be a part of our tradition of excellence!
 
How does a freshly made cookie smothered in ice cream with toppings of your choice sound?  Fashion Club is preselling tickets for pazookies for only $2.  Buy a ticket next week from fashion club members or come to A120 and then pick up pazookie after school Thursday 5/5.  Yummy!
 
If you have signed up for Computer Science and Software Engineering next year, you must attend a meeting in Mr. Hagen's room, C101, at lunch Wednesday or Thursday (April 27th or 28th)

Buy soda floats after school on Thursday for only $3.  Three flavors: root beer, coke, and orange.  Help support the Drill Team.
 
Congratulations to the Drill Team for being National Champions at the Sharp competition in Las Vegas this last weekend. Way to go!!
 
Tryouts for the 2016-2017 Drill Team will begin on May 2nd at 3:30 in the Dance Room.  Come help us defend our State Grand Championship and National Championship. See Mrs. Gasset in C207 if you have any questions. 
 
Attention ALL High School Students! Are you looking for summer employment or volunteer opportunities in your community? Need help building your resume, filling out applications and practicing your interview skills? Then be sure to stop by THE ATTIC on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 between 3:00-5:00 p.m. There will be numerous employers on-site. Please call THE ATTIC at (310) 782-8828.
Spring is in the air and so is Spring Football! Practice starts May 16th from 4-6 pm Monday through Thursday. Newcomers welcome. Last day of Spring Football is June 16th. Boom. Coach Hollis
 
POWDER PUFF IS HERE AGAIN.  Any Senior who wants to participate in POWDER PUFF must turn in a signed parent permission slip and pay $10 by Tuesday, May 3 in ASB.  This includes coaches.  If you have questions please contact Mrs. Gasset in C207.
 
Interested in joining the Dance Rally? Sign-ups start on May 2nd and end May 6th! Pick up a sign-up slip in ASB !
 
The Festival of One-Acts runs one night only! TONIGHT! Don't miss this highly entertaining evening of drama and comedy! The show starts promptly at 7:00 pm. Pre-sale tickets are still available for $3.
