Good Luck to the Tartar Band and Colorguard- as they head to Fresno for Western Band Association finals this weekend. They are going into finals ranked 3rd statewide in their division.                                                                        Anwandter
 
ACT Prep Boot Camp at THS – hosted by PTSA, a 4 day workshop in December to prep for the winter ACT’s. Become a more confident test-taker. Dates are 12/2, 12/4, 12/9 and 12/11 from 4:30pm to 6pm. Cost is $70.00. Applications are available from THS website or in the Principal’s Office and deadline is 11/25.                                                                        Hollis
 
Congrats to Torrance Debaters - Diane Kim & Miki Kono who won three of their four rounds and were honored for superiority in speaking, as well as Chelsea Lee, John Oh, and Wafa Naqvi who went undefeated at the debate tournament on 11/1 at Narbonne! Congrats to Torrance debater Samara Renteria who took 1st place in her house at last Saturday’s congressional debate tournament at Culver City High. Shout out to Mark Cabalatungan and Rita Lake who both won 2nd place in their respective houses. Chelsea Lee was recognized for superiority in speaking in the elite Student Senate. You make us proud! Congrats to Colin Dinsmore and Renee Zoota-Lucerno who have both recently been inducted into the National Speech and Debate Association. NSDA recognizes participation and excellence in competitive debate and public speaking. You Rock!             Sluyter

-El Camino College Counselor is available in the counseling office to meet with students who have questions about registration, testing, and enrollment.  Thursday 11/20 and Monday 11/24 from 1-2:30.  Students must sign up in the Counseling Office and get a pass.                                                                                                                                       Dillon

SENIORS!  If you are having a hard time getting through your college apps, if you need someone to look over your personal statement, if you are still trying to figure out where to apply, come see Mr. E in room A109.  He is there before school, during break and lunch, and after school.  If you are applying to a private school with a later deadline, REMEMBER that some private schools have earlier admissions application deadlines to be considered for financial aid, some as early as December 1st!!!
